Owen did really well competing in his first state swimming meet! No medals, but such a great achievement to get there after such a short time competitively swimming.

Perth Sunrises

Selby and I are training for the HBF half marathon at the end of May. The early morning starts to fit in a weekly training run on a Sunday are worth it when you get to see a sunrise like this!

It's all about Owen!

Owen has decided to finish up with ice hockey this term to concentrate on his swimming instead. He has also been busy practicing clarinet, after being selected to participate in the school music program playing clarinet. Such a multi-talented boy!

Frank's

To celebrate Owen's success in the pool, we walked down to the strip to Frank's for dinner. It is set to become a favourite as the boys really enjoyed the American style meats and carbs, with bottomless drinks!

First Swim Meet

Owen has just joined up to Western Sprint Swimming Club for squad swimming. On the weekend he attended his first official meet at St Hilda's. He was stoked to win 2 medals and even recorded and state qualifying time for the long course competition next month! We are so proud.

Inter-school Swimming

Owen really enjoyed the inter school swimming training and carnival this year. Millen did really well, coming 2nd overall by just a few points. Winners are grinners!

Selb and I enjoyed a rare date night, with lots of laughs, watching Tim Minchin perform at Crown.

Owen's Year 6 Assembly

We were very proud of our once very shy Owie, auditioning for and getting one of the leading roles as a news reader in his class assembly item for the year. He has come such a long way from the little kindy boy who held his hands over his ears when his class had to perform a Christmas song!

Sculptures by the Bay

 

While the other two were in Brisbane, Owen Dec and I headed down to Pip and Pop's place for the weekend. The boys had a great time checking out Sculptures by the Bay and a wander along the Dunsborough foreshore.

Brisbane Boys' Trip

Over the March long weekend, Selby and Ethan headed to Brissie for a weekend of quality time together. A kind of a coming of age trip that we plan to repeat for all the boys. They enjoyed scooting around and checking out the sites, comedy and food that Brisbane had to offer.

Deck demolition begins!

The same day also marked the beginning of our major project fort he year, revamping our backyard, with removal of the very weathered exposed deck, to make way for stone paving. Stay tuned for backyard updates!
