The Lane grandies came to stay with us for the long weekend, giving them the excuse to take Glendon's new toy (a diesel VW Touareg) for a decent spin in the country! Anyone who knows Glendon well will know the emotional trauma of not being allowed to buy a VW in his youth. This seems to have been well a truly rectified by the purchase of this luxurious 4WD'ing machine!

With the weather being nice and mild we drove out past Kanowna on Saturday, to an old timber headframe we spotted last year and had been meaning to get back to for a photo op. On Sunday we decided to go for a longer 4WD'ing expedition to Victoria Rocks, south of Coolgardie. We packed a picnic lunch, which was well earned after a 5km walk over the granite rocks. Ethan walked/climbed most of the way himself and was well and truly tuckered out by the end of it!
