Turtle Island

Our first group adventure was a trip on a glass bottomed boat to Turtle Island. The glass bottom was a bit of a joke with only a tiny rectangle of glass and the water on the way there was so shallow that we could only see seaweed. (Oh well!) The kids loved Turtle Island as they could pick up the turtles and hold a lot of other animals. As a vet and animal lover I found it horrendous! The poor baby turtles were kept in tiny tanks and all had wounds on them from fighting as they were so crammed in together. Definitely wouldn't happen in Australia, but a great opportunity for the kids to see all the animals up close I guess...
