We spent the African Freedom Day long weekend at Mushroom Lodge in the South Luangwa National Park. Being a 10 hour drive from Lusaka we took advantage of the "Kids fly for 5 kwacha" deal and flew there. The very small size of the plane made Ethan freak out a little! South Luangwa is said to be the best park for game viewing in Zambia and it certainly didn't disappoint! Our accommodation deal included a morning and night time safari drive, 4 hours each. So we did 16 hours of safari driving. We weren't too sure how well the boys were going to last, but they got right into it! Our very knowledgeable guide Brian did a great job imparting so much interesting information of all the plants and animals of the area, as well as putting up with 3 rowdy boys. We saw so much that I though the best was to present the photos was by a post for all the different animals we saw...
