Chickens!

 Bicycle chicken delivery!
Meet Zoe, Lulu and Pecky!

Funny eggs!

Before we decided to move to Zambia we had been contemplating getting chickens, so we finally got round to building a chicken enclosure and getting them here. We bought the hutch on the roadside and were given the number of a man named Wesley. I phoned him at 10:30am and he delivered them by bicycle at 2:30pm. Unusually efficient Zambian service! We have since figured out the Zoe, Lulu and Pecky are ex-battery hens. Even our chickens are rescue animals! At first they were too scared to leave their enclosure, but now they are happy free ranging around our garden and scratching in the dirt. Unfortunately they are not too keen on eating our scraps though as they don't recognise it as food. We are enjoying their eggs and usually get 2-3 per day. Welcome to the farm girls!
