By the third day of gorge exploration, and after strict instructions from James, we felt the kids were able to attempt the steep and most difficult grade 5 Joffre Gorge. Once down at the bottom, with the aid of pool noodles most of the crew ventured off on an epic swim of a few hundred metres, while Dec, Milla and I lounged like lizards on the warm rocks.
